Sarabel to the Rescue | Princess Claria
and Turrent at Sea
Not
long after Princess Claria and her true love Turrent were married,
they decided to set off to see the world. They packed plenty
of provisions--dried fruit, nuts, dried meat, hard bread, and
jars of honey. Princess Claria had special clothing made, since
she knew her delicate gowns with lace and beads would not fare
well while traveling. And of course, she packed the telescope
that had been left by one of her unsuccessful suitors.
Claria and Turrent rode by horse and caravan
to the coast. There, Turrent called upon a sailing captain who
he trusted. It happened that Captain Burrows was due to set sail
in just two weeks, on a mission to trade furs for spices. His
ship was named the “Blue Peregrine." The captain offered
Claria and Turrent shiprooms right next to his—snug, but
comfortable.
Their first days out at sea, the Blue Peregrine
followed the coastline south. Claria was a little seasick at
first, but soon got used to the gentle rocking of the ship. Then
they headed straight into the wide ocean. One day, Claria was
looking out through the porthole in her room, using her telescope. "Look,
Turrent," she said, "What an odd looking boat is coming
in our direction. What do you think it can be?"
Now it’s up to you to finish this story and tell
it to your parents.
